HOT CLUB OF SPOKANE
WITH THE ROCKABILLY SPACE FORCE

It's a Rockabilly invasion of our First Sunday Jazz nights! The Rockabilly Space Force will land at Hamilton Studio on Sunday April 6, playing music from the dawn of the Space Age. It'll be a 4-piece invasion, as our good friend Randy will be off on assignment somewhere in the asteroid belt.
Hamilton Studio is an all-ages venue, but there will be a bar with beer and wine available for those with ID. Snacks and charcuterie boxes are also available for purchase.
Doors at 5:15pm. Dance lesson at 5:30pm. Rock and roll from 6-8pm.

PAMELA BENTON BAND

The singer/songwriter, Pamela Benton, has assembled an all-star band featuring some of the finest musicians of the Northwest. Experience Benton's newly released originals, familiar favorites and covers with a full-band sound. Classically trained on the violin, Benton's music genres include indie, pop, rock, with an influence of jazz and can be best described as “Norah Jones meets Sting.”
Accompanying Benton's vocals, electric violin and electric guitar are Matthew O'Leary on keys and Irish bouzouki, Taylor Belote on drums, Tyler Coulston on guitar and Caylee Olson playing bass. Benton sings and plays live on both the electric violin and lead guitar.

Dmitri Matheny & David Larsen JAZZ FROM THE SILVER SCREEN; Music in the Movies!
Lyrical flugelhornist, Dmitri Matheny, and his all-star band present an evening of timeless classics from the shared history of jazz and cinema.
“So many beloved songs are featured in Hollywood scores and soundtracks,” Matheny says, “and it makes sense, because the art forms of jazz and film, both about 100 years old, grew up together.”
Matheny and friends will showcase jazz renditions of familiar favorites from An Affair To Remember, Blade Runner, Casablanca, Chinatown, Taxi Driver, The Godfather, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Mo Better Blues, Young Frankenstein, Star Wars, Barbie, and more!

THE GREENSTONE EMERGING ARTISTS CONCERT SERIES

Timeworm is a Spokane-based confluence of musical space-time where indie rock, funk, pop, and psychedelia meet. Timeworm channels the dynamic energy of the Inland Northwest rock scene in live performances while setting themselves apart by delivering catchy melodies in everything from soulful jams to distorted soundscapes. The group joined forces in 2023 and played their first show in January 2024 to a sold-out crowd, inspiring them to bring their infectious sound to more audiences.

Clayton Ryan is a howling force out of Minnesota, blending country soul, Midwest emo, and grunge-fueled punk with his signature “Midwest as F*ck” energy. A musical chameleon, he’s shared stages with John Morgan, Liam St. John, and Cristina Vane, while his music has landed on FOX Sports, NASCAR, and NFL Sunday Night Football. His 2024 debut GHOST TOWN racked up 10,000+ streams on release day, with its title track earning a spot on The Current’s Top 89 Songs of 2024. After a rare encore at Nashville’s Whiskey Jam, Clayton is charging full speed into 2025 with a national tour and a sophomore album on the horizon.

Jahari Stampley, is a Rising Star in Jazz Piano. Chicago-born pianist, Stampley began playing at 14 and quickly gained recognition, winning top competitions like the 2023 Herbie Hancock Institute International Competition. By 18, he was followed by legends like Robert Glasper and Stanley Clarke, later touring with Clarke and featuring on Derrick Hodge’s Color of Noise.
He has performed at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall and SFJAZZ and led solo tours in Germany, Switzerland, and the U.S. His debut album, Still Listening, hit #1 on Apple iTunes and was arranged for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Stampley also created Piano Chronicles, an educational music game. A true innovator, his talent continues to shape the future of jazz.

Brennen Leigh is an American songwriter, guitar player, mandolin player and singer whose to-the-point storytelling style has elevated her to cult icon status in Europe, Scandinavia, across the United States, South America and the United Kingdom. Awash in full-throttle fiddle, weeping steel guitar, a sprinkling of heavenly backing vocals, and anchored by her warm, expressive vocals, Brennen Leigh’s latest album is an emotion-packed revelation. Rooted in vintage country, Ain’t Through Honky Tonkin’ Yet is an unapologetically beer- and tear-soaked homage to an era when hard-country weepers burst forth from AM transistor radios.

THE EMERGING ARTISTS CONCERT SERIES

Founded in 2017, Quiero Flamenco brings Flamenco to the Inland Northwest through annual productions at venues like the Bing Crosby Theater and Myrtle Woldson Theater, as well as intimate tablao-style shows. Featuring local and world-renowned artists, the company has performed at the ACES Symposium, University of Idaho Festival Dance, and had Gradience televised by KSPS-PBS. Led by Artistic Director Monica Mota, Quiero Flamenco collaborates with Grammy-nominated and award-winning artists. Gradience will be presented by KSPS on January 10, 2025, at the Myrtle Woldson Theatre.

MAGGIE BAUGH

Welcoming country star, Maggie Baugh, hailing from Boca Raton, FL, grew up studying classical music, writing songs and playing shows across Florida to The Listening Room. The Nashville music industry is showing its enthusiasm for her independent success, as she released her debut album, “Dear Me” this past October.
Most recently, Maggie caught the attention of Keith Urban who asked her to join him in 2024 as his utility player on tour. In the past year, Maggie has appeared on CMT Awards, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, the Today Show and performed on stages from the Country Music Hall of Fame to Nissan Stadium.

He has performed with legends like Paquito D’Rivera, Arturo Sandoval, and Maria Schneider and released acclaimed albums including Influences (2024) and Seen on the Scene (2021). Now the Director of Jazz Studies at Whitworth University, Hall brings his dynamic sound back home for a performance you won’t want to miss!

You'll hear the music of a-ha, Pet Shop Boys, Erasure, and OMD — as well as chart-toppers by Depeche Mode, New Order, Alphaville, The Human League, and many more iconic 80s favorites.

PIERRE BENSUSAN

Pierre Bensusan, often called “The Prince of DADGAD,” is one of the most eloquent World Music musicians today. A self-taught guitarist and composer, his unique style blends traditional, contemporary, jazz, classical, and pop influences. Winner of the Rose d'Or and Best Guitarist of World Music by Guitar Player Magazine, his album Encore won the Grand Prix at the Independent Music Awards. With over half a million albums sold and thousands of performances since 1974, Bensusan’s music is an intimate, orchestral journey, played on his Lowden guitar with a distinctive, transparent technique.

TANGO VOLCADO

“Tango Volcado, The Inland Northwest's hottest Tango Band is stirring up a frenzy for Tango wherever it plays. This quartet of musicians play multiple instruments including the viola and violin, accordion, guitar, piano and bass. From the torrid to the tender, the group plays classic tangos, Nuevo tangos and their own tango arrangements of pop songs. Jody Graves, Patricia Bartell, Tana Bland and Eugene Jablonsky teach at Universities, secondary schools, play in the Spokane Symphony, teach privately, and perform in a variety of styles and venues in addition to their Tango Volcado activities. ”
